Leadership: a Lateral Perspective

Abstract

Summary This article draws on three contemporary writers on leadership, Keith Grint, John Paul Lederach and Julia Middleton, to explore ‘inverse learning’, ‘accidental sagacity’ and ‘leading beyond authority’ and what such insights can bring to the practice of leadership within and beyond Christian circles. The book of the Acts of the Apostles is used illustratively to emphasise these aspects of leadership, and also to stress the importance of ‘followship’.
