Mathematics in Greek Civilization: Significant Current Moments (La Matematica nella Civiltà Greca: Momenti Significativi Attuali)

Abstract

This work presents a historical excursus on the evolution of Mathematics from the Chaldean-Babylonian period (VIII-VII century BC) to the economic re-flowering in Europe (XII century AD), underlining, in particular, those aspects of science that they have influenced the development of Architecture, Astronomy and, subsequently, also the implications that are manifested in literature and political thought today. The work will be completed in a future article on the same theme dealt with in the following period, from the twelfth century to today.
