Abstract

Life skills education helps in the development of values among students at the school level to reach their full potential and prepare them for the challenges of everyday life. In this context, the entire process of education should be value-oriented and lead to skill development. The purpose of value inculcation through life skills education is to develop an integrated and balanced personality in the child. The study throws light on the ten core life skills of the World Health Organisation that are self-awareness, empathy, critical thinking, creative thinking, decision making, problem-solving, effective communication, interpersonal relationship, coping with stress and coping with emotions.
