Recent advances in factors related to efficacy and complications of gamma knife in treating trigeminal neuralgia

Abstract

Gamma knife has the characteristics of high effectiveness, high safety and less complications in the treatment of primary trigeminal neuralgia. It can be used as the first treatment and repeated treatment. The treatment parameters such as irradiation dose, irradiation position, and irradiation length of the gamma knife can affect the efficacy and complications. In addition, the optimal treatment time, related treatment history and other clinically relevant factors of the patients need further research.
