Abstract
The hawthorn (Crataegus L.) flowers and fruits are successfully used in medical practice as the cardiotonic drugs. The promising hawthorn raw materials are cormus collected at the flowering stage of the plant. A comparative analysis of the electronic spectra of extracts from the raw materials of three hawthorn types showed that extracts from the cormus of Crataegus monogyna Jacq. and Crataegus sanguinea Pall. are characterized by a maximum of absorption at 392 nm, while for extracts of Crataegus submollis Sarg. the maximum of absorption is 412 nm. The cormus of the Crataegus monogyna Jacq. harvested at the flowering stage of the plant are characterized by the highest content of flavonoids — 3.58 ± 0.18% (calculated on vitexin 2II-O-rhamnoside). The hawthorn cormus are a promising species of medicinal plant raw materials. Crataegus submollis Sarg. is a promising type of medicinal plants.
