Abstract

In France, a dramatic two thirds reduction rate was observed in the incidence of nutritional rickets during the first years, with the creation of vitamin D enriched milk formula for infant feeding. However, there are number of symptomatic nutritional rickets cases among adolescents, particularly as regards skin pigmentation in girls. This suggests the use of a vitamin D supplement principally during this age period characterized by a high growth rate.
