Awareness of and attitudes to coronary heart disease among the public, patients and family members: the HELP study

Abstract

This article describes the findings from a large-scale consumer survey conducted in five European countries in order to assess current awareness of and attitudes to coronary heart disease among the general public, high-risk public, patients who had suffered a heart attack and family members of such patients. The findings from the survey provide health care professionals with information to help their patients who have coronary heart disease to make lifestyle changes and live healthier lives.
