Abstract

This article analyzes the concept of Person and Time among the E’ñepá (Panare) Indian people of the Venezuelan Amazon. It is related to a number of other concepts such as: humanity, the identity of beings, the idea of differences and similarities, kinship and affinity, human and animal forms, direction of time, and order and succession of time. These categories are not material in nature, and are rather processes and relations.
