Abstract

This study aimed to examine the differences in a theoretical model using residents' sustainability perceptions, place attachment (PA), and environmentally responsible behavior in areas with unequal tourism revenue within a national park in Taiwan. The analytical findings suggested that PA affected environmentally responsible behavior at both study sites. However, socio-culture perceptions, environmental perceptions, and life satisfaction perceptions were precedents to PA in areas with high tourism revenue, but economic perceptions and environmental perceptions influenced PA in areas with low tourism revenue. Finally, we provide managerial implications that can help national park managers achieve sustainable management goals.
