Abstract

This paper reports an experimental study of CoMo catalysts (used in hydrodesulfurization catalytic process) properties. A systematic approach was adopted and the influence of the following parameters : temperature, Co-loading, presence/absence of Mo, support material (carbon or alumina) and, in case of alumina, the application of a calcination procedure, was investigated. A structural model of the active phase is proposed and the implications of this model are discussed.
