Prostate Cancer, Update of its Diagnosis and Treatment, with Special Emphasis on its Management in Argentina

Abstract

Prostate cancer is the second most frequent tumor in men in Argentina. Since the work of Charles Huggins, in 1941, in which he demonstrates that the suppression of the male sex hormone-testosterone-through surgical castration, many years have passed and many advances have been made in terms of diagnosis and treatment of this disease, paradigm of a hormone-dependent tumor.
