Abstract
Enzymes are proteins that control and carry out metabolic activities in the body, either directly or indirectly. Enzymes have various advantages over traditional pharmaceuticals in terms of therapeutic efficacy and toxicity. They have great specificity and affinity for their target, minimizing toxicity. Use the terms "Serratiopeptidase enzyme" and "inflammation" to search publications in Google Scholar, Sciencedirect, SAGE journal, and Pubmed databases. According to ten articles, the serratiopeptidase enzyme has been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect by reducing inflammatory cytokines and adhesion molecules, thereby regulating the movement of inflammatory cells to the site of inflammation, which in clinical trials can reduce swelling of edema and metabolism of scar tissue in the body.
