GAYA BAHASA DALAM KUMPULAN SYAIR RIWAYAT CINTA KARYA KAHLIL GIBRAN

Abstract

: Riwayat Cinta is a collection of poems written by the famous Lebanese poet, Kahlil Gibran. This collection of poems that talk about love uses a distinctive and quality language style so that it is able to create deep meaning and a great emotional touch for the reader. This study aims to reveal the use of language style in the collection of poetry Riwayat Cinta by Kahlil Gibran. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Data were collected using a read-note technique. The collected data was then analyzed descriptively. The results of the study show that the collection of poetry Riwayat Cinta by Kahlil Gibran contains various types of language styles. Judging from the sentence structure, the language styles contained in the poem include antithesis, repetition, and parallelism. As for the continuity of its meaning, the style of language contained in the poem includes apostrophe, simile, pleonasm, eroticism
