Abstract
The purpose of this study was to review the psychometric properties of the Objectied Body Consciousness Scale (OBCS) in the time frame 2002 - 2022. For this purpose, a search was carried out in the ScienceDirect and WorldCat databases, where 1248 articles were identied, of which only 11 were selected (7 in the adult population and 4 in the adolescent population). The results report that the OBCS is an instrument with adequate psychometric properties, which presents different models according to the context of application (3 dimensions and 2 dimensions); 9 of 11 articles used adequate methodological aspects, while in 2 articles a very small sample size was identied for the statistical processes used; the reliability of the instrument is adequate in all its models and is always reported through the internal consistency alpha. Finally, it was identied that in the adult population, models with the original number of items, or close to it, work best; while in the adolescent population, short models with numbers close to 12 items work best; in both populations, the three-dimensional model is adequate
