Abstract
The energy efficiency of electric public transport connected to the overhead DC contact line is significantly reflected in the ability to recover kinetic energy during braking mode in the form of electrical energy that can be stored in mobile energy storage systems for reuse during the next acceleration. However, the installation of a mobile energy storage system increases the total weight of the vehicle. Therefore, it was decided to carry out a Matlab simulation-based study of the impact of the additional mass of a mobile energy storage system on total energy consumption.
