The major treatments currently available include finasteride, minoxidil, hair transplantation, Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), stem cell therapy, etc. This article reviews the mechanism of AGA and the existing major treatments. Abstract

Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is the most common type of hair loss, in which patients mostly present with a state of a receding hairline on the forehead. It brings a great mental burden to the patient.
