Abstract

The electrochemical synthesis of potassium ferrate was carried out in membrane cell with metal iron as anode and platinum as cathode in electrolysis of 13.5 mol·dm~(-3) KOH solution.The optimum temperature of synthesis is about 30℃.Current density is about 0.5 mA/cm~2.The current efficiency of the synthesis in 13.5 mol·dm~(-3) KOH solution is 58.7%.Charging voltage was varied between 1.92 to (l.83 V).Electrochemical synthesis time is about 2 to 3 hours.
