Abstract
Using a 50-inch 3DTV and showing four kinds of content, we experimentally evaluated the relationship between TV viewers' emotional states and specific physiological and psychological indices. As statistical analysis, Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient, multiple regression and principal component analysis were performed to estimate emotional state. Our results indicate that near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS), which represents one aspect of nervous system activities, is a potentially useful index for evaluating the emotional states of “stressed-relaxed” and “feeling of involvement-of boredom.” Moreover, LF/HF and HR are affected by complex emotional states in each subject for evaluating emotional states.
