Abstract

In this paper, a new transmit antenna selection (TAS) algorithm which gives optimum error performance while reducing the computational complexity is proposed for spatial modulation (SM) systems. The idea of the proposed algorithm is based on the eigen decomposition of the matrix composed from the transmit signal difference vector. Although eigen decomposition has itself weighty computational complexity, finding only the base vectors which also reduces the complexity will suffice for the algorithm since the eigenvectors can be defined up to a phase.
