Abstract

With the increasing operating frequency, magnetic components and their design is considered as a significant part to achieve high power density and high efficiency in today's power electronics converters. Accurate losses of these components under practical excitation conditions are still difficult to determine. Therefore, it's crucial to directly measure the loss of these components for loss estimation and further optimization. In this paper, a loss measurement approach of magnetic power components is proposed. To emulate many power electronics relevant waveforms, the excitation source is constructed in a full-bridge topology with SiC MOSFET modules.
