Bhaduri concludes this chapter by commenting on the influence of polycoloniality on the Bengal renaissance. The book is definitely an important intervention into the prevailing monocolonial narrative of Bengal and India. The limitation of the book is that Bhaduri leaves out the influence of polycoloniality on certain geographical areas which are not part of Bengal today, like Bihar and certain parts of Odisha. Bhaduri opens up the possibility for further research on many of the vital issues like the effect of polycoloniality on food, language, literature, architecture, religion, for example, which are briefly touched upon. Polycoloniality offers a new template through research findings that would not only enrich a new generation of researchers about the plurality of the Indian nation but also offer a new paradigm that would widen the scope of postcolonial studies.
