Abstract
Summary
Serologic studies on reovirus infections in cattle in the Federal Republic of Germany
Sera from 155 slaughter calves were tested by the haemagglutination inhibition test for antibodies against reovirus types 1, 2 and 3. 108 calves (70%) showed antibodies against type 1, 25 (16%) against type 2 and 8 (5%) against type 3 of reovirus.
As measured by examination of paired serum samples reovirus type 1 and type 2 respectively were concerned in acute infection phases in 3 out of 24 controlled farms suffering from so called “Rindergrippe”.
