Dipole antenna mainly use in order to reduce the effective area of the receiving antenna to receiving microwave power in high electric field regions.It’s also Converting electromagnetic radiation in space into electrical currents in conductors or vice-versa, depending on whether it is being used for receiving or for transmitting, respectively.
