Influence of job frustration, narcissism and demographic variables on attitudes towards professional ethical behaviour among Nigerian police officers

Abstract

The study examines the hypothesised relationship among job frustration, narcissism, demographic variables and professional ethical behaviour among Nigerian Police officers. One hundred policemen drawn from four police divisions of Benin Area Command of Edo State participated in the study. There were 18 females and 82 males. Data were collected based on responses elicited from respondents using questionnaire method. Result of the correlation analysis shows that there was a significant negative relationship between narcissism and attitude towards professional ethical behaviour (r= -0.41, df=98, p African Journal for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Vol. 9(1) 2006: 37-45
