Photodistributed sarcoidosis with ophthalmic, arterial and pulmonary symptoms

Abstract

The photo-induced variant of sarcoidosis is rare. To our knowledge, nine cases have been described.1-6 Symptoms generally consist of mildly erythematous papules on the face and upper chest that respond to topical or systemic corticosteroids and antimalarial agents. We report a case of severe eruptive, photo-induced sarcoidosis with ophthalmic, pulmonary and femoral artery involvement treated successfully with methotrexate.
