Abstract

The micro combined heat and power (micro-CHP) enhances the benefits of domestic hot water (DHW) systems. It can not only provide thermal energy but also minimize the need for electricity imports, cutting operating expenses. In DHW systems, the dynamic temperature difference between hot water and ambient causes heat loss in existing structures. However, the dynamic heat losses were ignored in the research on energy scheduling of DHW systems. The dynamic heat losses in a DHW system are calculated in this paper.
