Abstract

The present study aims to identify the styles of children upbringing ,as family upbringing styles contribute the most in children's aggressive behavior. To achieve the objectives of this study, a random sample of 50 students was selected representing 25% of the total number of pupils in the primary stage of (200 students) in one of the villages of Damietta Governorate . The study was conducted using a questionnaire interview. The data analysis used frequency and percentage, T test, the Pearson correlation coefficient and the standard partial regression parameter. The results found that the authoritative style father and authoritarian to the father variable with a positive impact in aggressive behavior towards others. These variables explained 77, 7% and 36.8% ,respectively of the variance in aggressive behavior towards others. Also, the permissive style to mother and the permissive style to father variable had positive effect on aggressive behavior directed towards the self. These variables explained 46, 9% and 43, 9%, respectively, of the variance in aggressive behavior towards the self. The study recommends, continuous communication between parents and the school to follow child's behaviors, control and guide children as they watch and hear through television or social media.
