Thoughts on Sustainable Development of Chinese Medicine Industry in “High Concept” Era

Abstract

With a rapid shift from the “Information Age” to the “Conceptual Age,” creative thinking in the “High Concept” era has been advocated for the human society. The large Chinese medicine industry, as the most original thought, is an integral part of Chinese medicine. The question of the entire industry is how to adapt it to time and achieve sustainable development. According to the requirements for sustainable development of Chinese medicine industry in the era of “High Concept,” eight measures have been proposed. The strategies are as follows: to rationalize the standard management system and increase industry consolidation layout; to intensify policy support, strengthen and expand its Chinese brand; to speed up basic medical research and promote traditional Chinese medicine (TCM); to enhance cultivation of leading enterprises and strengthen TCM industry; to speed up innovations in order to guide and promote effective transformation of technical results; to develop conservation strategies and deal with the impact of “foreign Chinese medicines”; to promote multidisciplinary consortium and play advantage of talent from overseas; to encourage enterprises in the international market and enhance international competitiveness of Chinese medicine.
