In November 2022, the Wire Rope was replaced at Indarung IV, but this replacement was faster than planned. Therefore, it is necessary to analyse the causes of damage to the wire rope so that it can be used until the age limit and prevent accidents when the hoist is operated. The method of checking damage on the wire rope is using a visual method and measuring the diameter of the wire rope. The method of finding the root of the problem is using the Ishikawa diagram (Cause-Effect Diagram) Based on the results of the analysis of the data obtained, the damage on the previous wire rope was corrosion on the outside, crushing and waviness. Wavy wire rope occurs due to the wire rope overlapping on the hoist drum and shaft. In this Hoist Stahl component, there has been damaged equipment, namely the Wire Rope Guide. The absence of wire rope guide equipment is one of the biggest factors causing damage to steel ropes. .
