The results indicates that warning and public comprehension degree have a great impact on life loss. Abstract

The life loss model of dam failure based on standard k-epsiv model coupled with the volume of fluid (VOF) method is studied in this paper. The improved Graham method is adopted to estimate the life loss of dam failure. The Gongming reservoir in Shenzhen city is taken as a case study.
