Abstract
One of the objectives of the UNAM School of Medicine is to offer its students the tools and preparation to advance in the command of the English language, which empowers them and allows them to interact in a greater number of contexts, besides covering the characteristics established in the profile of graduates of the Medical Doctor Degree.
Due to this, the School of Medicine, through its General Secretariat, SUAyED and the English Program evaluated the existing programs for teaching English used until 2016. Based on these results, a plan was established in which new courses were designed following the level structure of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which would allow the students to advance from level 0 to B2, that is, an upper intermediate level. The results of these proposals demonstrate a significant advance in the command of the English language, as well as students with greater autonomy and self-confidence.
