Abstract

Dimethyloxobutylphosphonyl dimethylate (dimephosphone) is a Russian drug of metabolic action, developed in Kazan in 1952 at the Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry named after A. E. Arbuzov, Kazan Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, and at the Department of Pharmacology, Kazan State Medical University. Its novelty and originality are confirmed by patents in many countries. [2] The paper presents a review of the literature, which confirms that dimephosphone is able to restore damaged brain structures, improves cerebral circulation, and has neurotropic and cerebroprotective properties.
