For the study Soxhlet apparatus was used for extraction of plant materials with using water, ethanol and chloroform as extractive solvents. Standard chemicals and methods were used for the qualitative determination of plant S. grandiflora flowers extract. The study investigation was followed to determine the presence of chemical compound in flowers part of plant as well as to investigate the quality of drug. Result found that the different flower extract may presence of alkaloids, steroids, tannins, sterols, flavonoid etc. The pentylenetetrazol (PTZ) induced seizure model was used for testing anticonvulsant activity of ethanolic, aqueous and chloroform extracts(100mg/kg) of Sesbania grandiflora flowers. The extracts significantly (*p < 0.01) reduced the duration of convulsion and delay onset of seizure. 大田菁花的生药学、植物化学标准及抗惊厥活性研究
