Materials which are used in making of effervescent Tablets are hydroxy-methylcellulose HPMC. For the buoyancy sodium bicarbonate is used. Initially for the selection of formulation Definitive screening design is used which allows to study the effect of large number of factors in relatively small experiment. The optimized formulation is tested for release rate, buoyancy, hardness, thickness, floating time, swelling study and release rate.
