Abstract
The development and incorporation of the concept of pupils' computational thinking into the curriculum of computer science subjects is currently one of the major challenges which the Czech school system is facing. Within the framework of the related discussion, the argument accentuating the necessity of the implementation of a mandatory thematic unit aimed at teaching algorithmization and programming as the main tool for further development gains strength. It should become the main cross-cutting topic across different age categories of pupils and students. When implementing the innovated curriculum of informatics subjects, it is necessary to take into account the preferences and opinions of the direct actors of the change, that is to say, teachers of informatics subjects, who will implement the teaching of the newly introduced thematic unit in education. So what are the preferences of teachers of informatics subjects when introducing a new thematic unit focused on algorithmization and programming in teaching? This is one of the questions which we tried to find an answer to by means of a research survey, the course and results of which are presented in the submitted paper.
