Teaching Theological Thinking in Practical Theology

Abstract

Summary This article reports an experiment in the teaching of practical theology. By recounting and reflecting on this experiment, the author argues that the inter-disciplinary dialogue at the heart of practical theology requires the modelling of a critical conversation in which the sub-disciplines of theology are fully operative. This is most likely to be a team approach. He also suggests some further implications of the experiment for teaching, learning and assessment in practical theology.
