Abstract
The behavior of the line of the unit compressibility factor in the region of low-temperature dense plasma of metals is studied for the first time. The shape of this line is universal in the density–temperature plane for many one-component gases and liquids at low temperatures, along with liquid metals. Using virial expansions and calculations within the framework of the chemical model, we demonstrate that such a similarity breaks apart upon transition to the region of low-temperature plasma of metals. Nevertheless, a weaker similarity expressed in the form of a power law is possible for the discussed line in this region at relatively low densities.

Plasma Physics Reports is a peer reviewed journal devoted to plasma physics. The journal covers the following topics: high-temperature plasma physics related to the problem of controlled nuclear fusion based on magnetic and inertial confinement; physics of cosmic plasma, including magnetosphere plasma, sun and stellar plasma, etc.; gas discharge plasma and plasma generated by laser and particle beams. The journal also publishes papers on such related topics as plasma electronics, generation of radiation in plasma, and plasma diagnostics. As well as other original communications, the journal publishes topical reviews and conference proceedings.
