Abstract

Solid state nuclear track detectors (CR-39) are used to measure radon 222 concentrations inside Jordanian dwellings. Five hundred and fourteen CR-39 dosimeters were distributed over 340 dwellings in the Irbid region, in the northern part of Jordan. Results obtained show that radon 222 levels vary between 3.0 and 163.9 Bq m-3. The average concentration of radon 222 in the entire Irbid region was 33.28 Bq m-3.
