Abstract
A joint investigation of high-LET cosmic particles was carried out on the outer surface of the COSMOS 1781 satellite using plastic nuclear track detectors. At a depth of 0.16g cm-2 the flux of the cosmic particle with LET1000 > 1100 MeVcm2g-1 was found to be (4.44±0.23) × 10-6cm-2s-1sr-1. The integral LET spectra of HZE particles at all investigated absorber thickness decrease according to the expression N( >LET) = K(LET)γ, where the parameter γ depends on both LET and thickness H: in the range up to LET ≈ 1600 MeV cm2 g-1 the dependence is given by γ=-0.63−0.08H; for higher LET, i.e. LET > 2000 MeVcm2g-1, this relationship is expressed by γ=-2.46−1.91H.
