There are a large number of designs of self-cleaning drums with a general principle of operation. The manufacturers do not disclose specific technical information about these reels. Therefore, a decision was made to conduct calculation and experimental verification of the main technical characteristics of self-cleaning drums. The selection of the most promising versions of selfcleaning drums from the whole variety of nomenclature of their constructive designs was carried out based on the expert evaluation method - the method of preference vectors.
