Helena z Morsztynów Ostrowska (1815–1888) – fundatorka i animatorka edukacji z Maluszyna

Abstract

(Korab coat of arms), the young heir of Maluszyn estate, proved to be a success. Helena and Aleksander Ostrowski not only made great efforts to educate their children, but also took considerable interest in public education and the creation of elementary schools. The heiress of Maluszyn estate became an ardent supporter of free education for rural children. Her daughter Ludwika and her niece Teresa Siemieńska née Skórkowska continued Helena’s work in the local branch of the Association of the Wives of the Landed Gentry, co-founded by the owner of Maluszyn estate and local noblewomen, under Teresa Siemieńska’s leadership.
