Abstract

It presents reflections on the informational behavior and the relationship with the development of information literacy for people in the street situation, in the context of social vulnerability. Investigations and actions carried out by researchers and professionals in libraries have been investigated to meet the information needs of people who are in a street situation. For this, a bibliographic survey was carried out on national and international bases from 1980 to 2018. Only five papers were found, but focused on public health that do not cover informational issues per se or focus on the work of community libraries or reading practices, but without turning specifically to the street population. It is concluded that there is a lack of studies on the populations in the street situation in the informational context, mainly in relation to behavioral actions and information competence. They are issues that must be deepened in the scope of Information Science because they involve the access and use of information for the construction of knowledge, identity and autonomy in order to allow the effective social inclusion of street people, guaranteeing the exercise of citizenship.
