N S he says, C.'s contribution is not a review of my Loeb edition but, in the main, a collection of censures; though to judge from CR 31 (1981) 39-42 (see my Select Classical Papers, 361 f.), a review, if he had written one, would have been on similar lines. Note the treatment of the original conjectures in my text (I count 29 and six in the apparatus): three disfavored, one approved, one shown to have been anticipated. The rest apparently provided nothing to his purpose. But to proceed seriatim:
