Abstract

We occur at a period, when in comparison with past, there is most of members of different generations present at the same moment on the same workplace. Currently, generation Z is about to join them. The oldest members of generation Z have entered labour market already, rest of them will do the same soon. Effective setting of working conditions is necessary for their coexistence which would lead to satisfying job results. Understanding of generations is necessary for this purpose, not excluding generation 2. Moreover, it is important to realize further context. Entrance of new generation to labour market will be influenced by macroeconomics conditions. Based on literature review, this paper connects generation 23 characteristics with unemployment rate in the Czech Republic, oncoming recession and demographic development. Despite high demand for labour and recent dynamic economic growth, It becomes apparent that generation Z’s entry to labour market will not be simple. Economic recession is being predicted soon, besides lack of workforce amplifies the recession. Generation Z should be warned by these facts and get prepared to be able to use its strengths and eliminate its weaknesses. And employers need to learn how to work with young people to handle recession and gain competitive advantage.
