A DENSIDADE INDUSTRIAL DOS MUNICÍPIOS PARANAENSES: UMA ANÁLISE DOS SEUS DETERMINANTES

Abstract

The objective of this work was to identify the determinants of industrial density in the State of Parana between 1995 and 2015. For this purpose, the productive specializations of each municipality were measured and the determinants of these agglomerations were then tested. As a corollary, Parana advanced in terms of productive density, increasing the percentage of municipalities with some specialization and increasing the value of the industrial density of those who already had specialization in the initial period. As the main determinants, it identified that the distance from Porto, the presence of universities, the existence of resources of Parana Competitive Program and the externalities of being close to a region that already had specialization in the initial period, influence the location of firms.
