The article presents the results of the study of social representations of the Sakha people about “the character of people living in Yakutia”. Methodology and Approach. The study was conducted throughout Yakutia in 2018. The results were processed using prototypical analysis of social representations by P. Verges. The sample of the study is divided into four age groups, taking into account age characteristics and a significant social event for the Yakut society – the adoption of the Sovereignty by the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in 1991. Results. It is revealed that the core of social representations remains unchanged, the periphery of social representations are the subject to influence.
