Buerguer´s Disease or Obliterative Thromboangiitis. A case report

Abstract

Buerguer´s disease also known as obliterative thromboangiitis, is a occluseve vasculitis that affects small and médium sized arteries and veins located mainly in the extremities, causing ischemic lesions at the acral level. This pathology mainly affects young male smokers, In order to make the diagnosis of this pathology, it is necessary to have a high clinical suspicion ofi t, since it is essential to be able to reach it to carry out an adequate anamnesis and physical examination, which allows us to exclude other pathologies that cause painful ischemic lesions at the leve lof the limbs. Regarding the treatment of this misease, it is base don smoking cessation, this being the fundamental measure to prevent the progression of the disease.
