Efficacy and Safety of Vaccines in Indian Children: a Review

Abstract

The immunisation of children in India has resulted in a significant reductionin morbidity and mortality. The current immunisation schedule protects againstpoliomyelitis, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, measles, and tuberculosis. Thedevelopment of this vaccine programme is discussed and suggestions made toexpand the programme to include coverage of hepatitis B.
