Abstract

An American specialist on Russian agriculture analyzes changes in agrarian policy under Russian President Vladimir Putin and compares the current situation in agriculture with that prevailing during the Yel'tsin years. A particular focus is on changes in policies governing food imports, agricultural debt, unprofitable farms, and agricultural credit.
