Abstract

A simple method for foreground and background genotyping is essential for molecular breeding. In this issue, Zhao et al. (pages 633-645) developed a new method for foreground and background integrated genotyping by sequencing (FBIseq) using PCR amplification via primer-template mismatch annealing. FBI-seq provides a robust, prolific, and precise tool for breeding in the post-genomics era.
